My Turquoise Home

My Mommy Makeup Must-Haves

I have always loved to wear makeup and get dressed up for a night on the town. I have always had a nice collection of eye shadows, blush, mascara, eyeliner…you name it! I still have a huge case full, but they are all now pushed a bit further back underneath the sink. Since having Isla, I still enjoy getting up in the morning and getting myself put together but there are a few items that I have really been loving since becoming a momma that really make me feel good, cut down on my time getting ready, do double duty and are just all around great products! Of course, these products are great for everyone whether you are a mommy or not.

Dial Coconut Water Body Wash – Having those few minutes to myself every morning are great and I need to make them count! I love this body wash. Coconut is by far my favourite scent and for a moment I am transported to a Carribean paradise.

St. Ives Fresh Hydration Spray Lotion in Coconut and Orchid – This stuff is a lifesaver! I love the spray on it because it goes on evenly, smells great, absorbs quickly and is light feeling on my skin.
Maybelline Age Rewind Dark Circles – This is a must for anyone especially a new mom that may not be getting a lot of sleep. It provides great coverage with a beautiful pink undertone that really hides those dark circles and immediately makes you look rested.
Physicians BB Powder – I am not a fan of creamy foundations and such on my face so I wanted to try this BB Powder. It was on the pricy side at almost $20 bucks a pop but it is definitely a product that I would repurchase over and over again. It is absolutely amazing. It is so light, covers up anything and makes my skin look flawless! I would highly recommend this if you are like me and not a fan of the creamier versions.
Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Tipsy – This is a beautiful coral colour blush that looks amazing on my skin and adds the perfect amount of colour to my face. It instantly brightens my face. Plus it contains no harsh chemicals, parabens or sulfates.
Chella Highlighter in Ivory Lace – This little pencil does triple duty. I use it in the corners of my eye, under my brows and even the apples of my cheeks to instantly brighten.
L’Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Mascara – I LOVE this mascara. It makes my lashes look long, fanned out and huge! The brush is amazing and really does what it says it’s going to do.
Tarte LipSurgence Skintuitive Lip Tint – This is unforntunately a Limited Edition product. I hope they decide to keep it because I love it. You put it on your lips and within a minute it changes to the most beautiful pink I have ever seen! I feel amazing with it on and I love what it does to the overall look of my face. Again, it doesn’t contain harsh chemicals, parabens or sulfates.
Wet n Wild Megalast Nail Polish in Private Viewing – I am a nail polish freak. I probably have atleast 30 different colours of nail polish. That may or may not be a lot but I think it’s a good number! Anyways, I love the Wet n Wild brand because it is a great price point, offers nice colours, lasts long and dries quickly. I love this colour because it goes on very nude and I can wear it with anything. I can put on a couple coats and it will be dry by the time I hear Isla crying from her crib!
What are your must-haves for makeup? Anything you simply can’t live without?!
