My First Mother’s Day

Sorry this post is a little late but I thought you may still like to know how my very first Mother’s Day was! To sum it up in one word it was…PERFECT!

I started my day off with a little sleep-in. The day before, Isla slept in until 9:30 am so needless to say I am feeling pretty rested.

I was then greeted by my beautiful baby and husband and given flowers, an incredibly thoughtful hand written letter by my husband and a great lounging chair that I have been wanting! Perfect start to the summer season.

I was then made a delicious breakfast, followed by a family walk and play outside.

My husband unfortunately had to work Sunday evening, so our day was cut short but I got to spend it with the little girl that made me a mommy in the first place. Everyday I am still in awe of this amazing little being we created. My gosh do I ever love her. I find it hard to get anything accomplished because all I want to do is kiss her and hug her and squeeze her little cheeks. She has made my life so full and because of that, everyday feels like Mother’s Day. How can something so little, completely take over your entire world?! To me, she is my biggest accomplishment and I can’t wait for every moment with her.

I didn’t get to spend Mother’s Day with my mom this year, but we spent last weekend together and I will see her this coming weekend again! My mom and I are incredibly close. She is a wonderful women and I only can dream that someday I will become the mom that she is to me. Happy Mother’s Day Mom!

I hope you all had a wonderful Mother’s Day and were able to spend it with the people that make you feel special. I hope you were spoiled, cooked for, baked for, cleaned for and loved on like crazy! I am so proud to be a part of the mommy club this year!
