Well…as much as I hate to say it, this is my last full week on maternity leave. I head back to work next Wednesday. I have said it before and I will say it again! Where did the year go?! I feel like a kid getting ready for the first day of school and the nerves are setting in. I hope I do a good job. Most importantly, I hope I remember how to do my job! Hopefully it is just like riding a bike.
This week is full of birthday EVERYTHING and last minute details. Do you ever feel like you are just running around in circles and have no idea where to start in order to get things accomplished!? That’s how I am feeling right now even though I have a daily to do list leading up to the big day and I know exactly what has to be done but for some reason I still feel like I am spinning. I think it has more to do with the fact that it’s 9 days until I head back to work that is completely freaking me out and not the party itself!
Here’s what I have to do this week!
Today – Family Day at Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada. We have to throw in a fun day amidst all the chaos so we are meeting some friends and their kids in Toronto and we are going to spend the afternoon at the aquarium. I think I am probably the most excited out of everyone…actually so is my friend Stacey!
Tuesday – Cut lawn and pull weeds. So fun!!! Finish “Happy Birthday” banner. Take Isla to Daycare for the afternoon. Go grocery shopping.
Wednesday – Print out pictures needed for party. Make one last trip (hopefully) to Michael’s and the Dollar Store.
Thursday – Meet a friend downtown for a walk with our babies. Finish cupcake toppers and garland.
Friday – Pick up last minute food items for party and baking ingredients.
Saturday – Prep food and bake Isla’s cake! Pick up balloons. Cut lawn once more. Set up tables and chairs and pray it doesn’t rain on Sunday. If you are reading this then please pray too!
Sunday – Set everything up, prepare food and do everything else I didn’t get done during the week! HA! Last but not least, enjoy Isla’s first birthday with family and friends and celebrate our baby girl!
I hope you all have a wonderful week! Wish me luck!
