This past week has been an extra proud one for Dana and I. One for the books. As a parent, all I ever want to know is that my daughter is safe, happy and loved while I am not there. This past week proved that she is thriving all on her own and figuring out so much.
One day last week Dana and I were both home at the same time and we were able to go together and pick up Isla at the sitters. When we walked in the door, Isla walked to us all the way from the other end of the room which is probably about 30 steps. Now she is a walking machine! I don’t remember her crawling!
The sitter also informed us that Isla has a nickname at her place and playgroup and everyone calls her “Smiley Isla”. Ev said everyone comments on how happy she is and how all she wants to do is make friends and play! Every morning in playgroup they do circle time and sing a song where they have to pat their hands on their legs and she has started to pick that up no problem and now does it every day with…you guessed it, a big smile on her face.
We have also been into colouring a lot and I got a bit emotional when I opened up Isla’s backpack and saw her first artwork to hang on the fridge!
Anyways, that’s all for this post. Short and sweet. I just wanted to share a week full of more firsts and knowing that Isla is learning and doing so much when I can’t be with her makes me a proud momma! You may as well enjoy some iPhone pictures while you are here.
I hope you are enjoying your week so far!
