My Turquoise Home

Our Summer Vacation Plans

High fives all around for summer plans and summer fun! Summer is (almost) officially here and we have a lot going over the next couple of months. A couple of big trips planned, a wedding and a couple other mini getaways with my little family are sure to make this summer lots of fun and full of memories!

A Wedding

In less then two weeks we will be heading back home to witness one of my oldest and dearest friends marry her best friend. Take my word for it, she is amazing and I couldn’t be more excited for her to start this journey with her husband to be. I am looking forward to seeing and catching up with people I haven’t seen in almost 10 years and celebrating this amazing couple who definitely deserve themselves and the world.

A Trip to NYC

My parents, sister and I went to New York City a few years back and it has been hard to get out of my head how amazing it is. In July I will be turning 30 and I wanted nothing more then to spend a weekend away with my husband. My family and grandparents pitched in and got Dana and I a bus trip to NYC!!!! Dana has never been so I am uber excited to experience this with him. I want to take him to the Museum of Natural History, The Met, Central Park, Time Squares and spend an afternoon with no map walking around Soho. I can’t wait to dine at a fantastic restaurant that we will surely stumble upon and most importantly I am overjoyed to be spending some time alone with my husband.

A Zoo Day

We will definitely be road tripping to the zoo this summer. It is on my bucket list and I can’t wait to check it off. Isla is at that age where anything that doesn’t resemble a human gets her so excited. I think taking her to the zoo will be a huge hit. I want her to see the giraffes, elephants and all the other animals she has only ever seen in books. I want her to try her first snow cone and ooohhh and aahh over the monkeys.

A Beach Day

Last year we went to Grass Creek Park right here in Kingston and I couldn’t believe that I had never heard of it before. They have the greatest sandy beach, picnic tables and playground. Ever since we went, I have been so excited to take Isla back. This year she will be even more into it and I know she will love playing in the water and making sandcastles. This place is literally 10 minutes away from us. My beach bag is already packed and ready to go!

A Trip to the Smoky Mountains

At the end of August, a bunch of my family and cousins who have a timeshare are heading down to Gatlinburg, Tennessee. It will be our first big family outing along with a 16 hour drive. Lord help us all! I am super excited to spend the week in a place I have never been to before. We are going to go see the mountains, explore and tailgate and watch the Nascar race at Bristol! To say I am over the moon excited for that is an understatement! I am so blessed that we are able to do these things together as a family and that Isla can experience traveling.

There you have it! Our plans for the summer. Lazy beach days, adventure and road trips! Perfect combination in my books! Do you have any plans for the summer?!
