Pregnancy Series {Day #2} 7 Things To Do While Pregnant

Pregnancy is tough. Yes you are growing a human and it’s fantastic and wonderful but it can still suck! Between the heartburn, sore EVERYTHING, uncomfortable sleeps, blood tests, needles, nausea and the fact that you will be pushing a watermelon out of your lady parts, 9 months of that can be utterly exhausting! Lucky for us this is also the time when we should be taking advantage of peoples extra kindness towards us, eating that last piece of cake and asking for help when we wouldn’t normally.

Here are 7 Things Every Mom To Be Should Do While Pregnant.

Eat All The Ice Cream…and then wash it down with chocolate milk. After the kiddos are in bed, sit down to watch The Bachelor and instead of pouring yourself a glass of wine like you would of done pre-pregnancy, get yourself a big bowl of ice cream (my favourite right now is Butterscotch Ripple) and a glass of chocolate milk. If you need to make yourself feel better while eating it all, just know that it will help you with your heartburn AND provide you and your baby with much needed calcium!

Treat yourself to some new clothing. Thinking you will be able to get through your pregnancy without buying any maternity clothing is just not possible in my opinion. You have about 5 months where your belly and other areas will expand everyday so you might as well be as comfortable as possible and look cute doing it. Invest in some leggings you can wear before and after pregnancy, some comfy shirts, maternity skinny jeans, blouses for work; anything that will make you feel good during the next few months.

Get a massage. I just did this the other day and it was heaven…pure heaven. Try to go to an RMT, someone who is familiar with giving prenatal massages. They will know what parts to focus on. You won’t regret it and you deserve to spoil yourself a little bit.

Ask for foot rubs daily. Carrying that extra weight around is no easy feat and your feet especially take the brunt of it. Every night my feet gradually find their way over to my husband and within a few minutes they are getting treated to a little rub. Very rarely do I ever have to use the phrase “I am carrying your child” but it should work if absolutely needed!

Balance the chip and dip bowl on your stomach…just because you can and it’s fun!

I’m not pregnant?! The next time you are standing in the checkout line at Walmart and someone says “Oh when are you due?” look at them with strange eyes and say “I’m sorry?” When I was first starting to show I totally did this with someone at work. I didn’t keep up the charade for long because I felt bad but it was funny none the less.

Take advantage of the help and great parking spots. Letting people do things for me is hard but I have learned to love it. I won’t be pregnant forever and if some random stranger wants to help me put my grocery bags into the trunk of my car then fantastic! And if we have the option to park right in front of the store in the “Expectant Mothers” parking spot then I am going to do that also! My husband thinks it’s the coolest thing ever!

See, despite the tougher parts of pregnancy, there are so many amazing things about it. It’s an experience unlike any other and at the end you get to hold your beautiful baby.

Is there anything you like to do while pregnant that you wouldn’t normally do otherwise? Comment below.
