I am spending my last possible week without a newborn getting ready for his arrival. Monday was the first day of my maternity leave and I spent pretty much the whole day relaxing and reading which is what I wanted to do. Monday night however I wanted to get a few things accomplished. My big item to tackle was the changing table which is still in Isla’s room. I have mentioned it before but we are in the process of selling our house so baby boy does not have his own nursery yet. I took out all of the cloth diapers we had stored and washed, stuffed and folded them, wiped down everything, stocked newborn diapers, replenished toiletries and organized all of the items we store there in the process.
I also went through Isla’s closet, packed away things she has outgrown, moved all of her sweaters to the back of the closet because I am almost certain they were fit her next winter, washed a few more of baby bros clothes and folded and put them away in his dresser.
We have also installed the car seat, fully packed up the hospital bag, purchased a little gift for Isla from her brother and got bottles, soothers and all those good things cleaned and sanitized for round two.
We also went to Babies R Us and purchased some last minute items (pictured above with links) including a wubbanub! Why on earth had I not gotten one of these for Isla?! I took it out of the box and it was the softest and cutest thing I have ever seen! If baby takes a soother, I hope I get to see him with this one.
Other then that, I will be spending the rest of my time roaming around the house and soaking up the last few days with Isla as an only child. I am sure I can find more productive things to do but I am choosing to ignore them for now. They can all wait.
Hope your week has been fantastic so far!
