Mother’s Day is upon us and every year there is that mad sprint to get moms the best gift we can think of. Let’s be real here for a second. We really don’t need, nor do we want a lot for Mother’s Day. We already know that we are awesome and we truly know that there is not a single gift out there that would show off how amazing we are!!! All we truly want is a HOT cup of coffee and maybe some chocolate because I sure do love chocolate! But seriously though, here are 5 things that moms actually want for Mother’s Day.
5 Things That Moms Actually Want For Mother’s Day
A new coffee mug – Heaven knows as moms we drink a lot of coffee. So much so, that mine are usually chipped and stained with more reheated ring lines then I care to admit or show to the world. A brand new coffee mug is welcomed on Mother’s Day and even more so when it comes with a cute message on it that we can see every morning. I am currently wanting this one from Chapters. Hint hint husband!
A handmade gift – There is nothing we love more than something homemade from our kiddos. A handprint, tissue paper flowers, or a card, we love it all and we will proudly stick it to the fridge for everyone to see.
To take a shower…on our own – What I would give to have a shower that doesn’t involve multiple looks at the baby monitor or hearing Elmo in the background on the iPad while my preschooler sits on the bathroom floor. When we ask you to keep an eye on the kids so we take a shower, just do it, please. Better yet, draw us a bubble bath, light some candles, take the kids and go.
NOT breakfast in bed – Please don’t wake me up early for breakfast in bed. Wake up with the kids, let me sleep in until 10 am and THEN bring me breakfast in bed.
Some pampering – What I would give for a full body message. Us moms are always looking after everyone else, so partners, please take the reigns on this and surprise us with a spa day. We will love you forever!
Pretty simple ideas right?! We don’t always want “stuff.” In motherhood, a simple HOT coffee and a shower on our own are all we really need to feel the love. What do you really want for Mother’s Day? Let me know in the comments below.
