We recently celebrated Nash’s 1st Birthday with a “Wild One” themed party. It was held at my parents home with all of our family. It was an afternoon affair with lots of balloons, food, and laughter. We served beans and pulled pork sandwiches to go with the outdoorsy theme. Pretzel “sticks,” chips and moss balls (guacamole), a delicious spread of cheese and crackers, assorted fruit, Robin Eggs (mini eggs), Bear Poop (chocolate covered almonds) and of course cupcakes! “Morning Dew” was our drink of flavoured water with sliced oranges and lemons. Trail Mix to-go bags were also laid out for after the party with a message from Nash that read “Happy Trails To You.” They were a hit!
I kept decor fairly simple and tried to focus on the important details. The table was set with a lace tablecloth and a teal straw table runner. It created the perfect base for everything. The window was decorated with tassel garlands made by yours truly and a teepee and “wild one” banner made by BBGarlands on Etsy. Some wood pieces my uncle got for me were used to decorate the table and used as risers for some of the food. I also used four of them to make Nash’s name and used them as part of the backdrop and I love the way it turned out. I used gold foiled labels for the food, had some of Nash’s Cake Smash photos developed to put on the table and had his monthly photos printed out to be displayed. A
Nash wore a “Wild One” onesie done by Pretty ‘n Paper and we also displayed his first birthday chalkboard, also done by P’nP. He laughed, ate pulled pork, enjoyed everyone singing to him, demolished a chocolate cupcake and thoroughly enjoyed
opening his presents pulling out all of the tissue paper and eating it. He also enjoyed playing with his toys after.
It was such a wonderful afternoon and I will remember all of the moments we shared and memories we created with our family.
