My Turquoise Home

Me Time

I am blessed enough to have the opportunity to stay home with Isla. I am so thankful that Canada is able to provide us with a year long maternity leave and that my husband is also able to provide for us as well. I am still not thinking about going back to work just yet. Some days I can get a little stir crazy! This winter especially has been brutal! Way to much snow and not enough nice days to get out with Isla. Needless to say, I am so excited for Spring weather to get here finally!

I try to get out of the house, by myself, a couple of times a week. My husband works a lot so if I can at least have one morning to myself then I am thankful. Usually, when I leave for a few hours, I am missing Isla like crazy anyways so it is all the time I need on my own to recharge and feel somewhat human again.

My idea of me time could involve any one of the following:

~~A trip to Target where I grab a Caramel Macchiato for the walk and I aimlessly roam the isles and look at things that I really don’t need.

~~A pop in to Chapters where I could also potentially grab a Starbucks and look through books and choose my next read. I feel completely relaxed when I enter that store…I don’t know what it is. Right now, I am reading ‘The Body Book’ by Cameron Diaz and it is a great read so far!

~~A quick trip to the mall where I once again window shop and look at things that I really don’t need.

~~And lastly, there is nothing like a good pedicure to really put you at ease and make you feel like a woman again.

Sometimes, it’s just as simple as Dana watching the baby for a couple hours when he’s home and I relax by reading, checking out my favourite blogs and watching some of my favourite youtubers! It’s the little things right?!

What do you do to enjoy your “me time”?

Thanks for reading.

we'd be great friends 😉 nearly everything you mentioned is what i would love to do. A trip to Target, reading, and a pedi (as I look at my horrible feet right now haha). Sounds too good 🙂
p.s. i love that teal purse in the first photo-just gorgeous!<3
