A Day at the Pool

Now before you get to excited…I am not referring to a big wave pool with a lazy river and a 50 foot long, scream your head off water slide. I am referring to the trip Isla and I took to our back yard!

We have finally been getting some hot weather here in Kingston and with that comes the humidity as well. We try to get out for walks either first thing in the morning before it gets too hot or right before Isla’s bedtime in the evening. Throughout the day we try to figure out activities that can be done inside. As much as I enjoy being outside, I know that it’s not the best for a little one during the mid-day hours.

Yesterday Isla and I decided to head out back for a fun afternoon. I packed up a little bag for us with some water and treats, slathered on the sunscreen and got Isla dressed.

We filled up her new pool that daddy got her, brought some of her friends and she splashed and splashed and splashed! Did I mention she splashed?! She is getting very brave and she rarely stayed in one spot. She wanted to crawl all over the place and even tried going over the edge a couple of times. Every time I tell her “NO” she just laughs at me and goes back to what she is doing. I hope this isn’t a glimpse into the future!
After some splish splashing, we rolled around in the grass for a bit to dry off and then we enjoyed our snacks. Isla has really figured out the feeding herself thing so now that’s all she wants to do. If was so cute sitting up in the chair with her just chillin’ after playtime, eating her food and us chatting away about the fun we just had. It’s how I have always pictured us enjoying our summer days together.
I hope you enjoy the pictures and have a great long weekend! For my fellow Canadians have a wonderful Canada Day and my American friends have a great Independence Day.

Taking the time to splash around a bit in the pool is a great way to spend the summer. The pictures are definitely much appreciated. No one could pass up the opportunity to see little Isla, adorably playing in her kiddie pool. Thanks for sharing that, Melissa! All the best to you and your family! 🙂

Thank you for your sweet words! We love a good pool day! Thinking more about it now while we are getting more and more snow everyday!
