Family Fun: 4 Things To Do In Kingston This Fall

Fall is here and what a perfect time of year to take advantage of the beautiful outdoors! Fall has never been my favourite season. In fact, I have usually dreaded it because it usually just means that summer is over and cold and snowy weather is on it’s way. This year however is a lot different because now we can experience it through the eyes of our little daughter. I have so many plans for the season and they involve the great outdoors, crisp mornings, Pumpkin Spice Lattes for us adults and finding the perfect pumpkin.

Here’s what we are going to see and do this Fall!

Fruition Barry Farm

We can’t wait to take Isla here this fall! This is the perfect weekend spot to take the family and it is just outside of Kingston. There is a corn maze that is so fun for the kids and every year they center it around a new theme. I heard this year that it is all about LEGO! So fun! They also have wagon rides and pick-your-own pumpkin patch which is what I am most excited for. I think Isla will love it. I just recently read on their site that they also offer straw bales, corn stalks and gourds that you can purchase to use for decorating.

We are planning on going here in 2 weekends, weather permitting and I think it will be a great family day. Please check out there website for information and updates.

Waddell Apple Picking

I drive by this place often and I have always thought to myself how wonderful it will be to someday take my family here and the time has finally come! Waddell’s is open daily from 10am – 5pm and is the perfect spot to pick your own apples. You can then go home with your family and bake your own delicious pies or you can even purchase them there along with many other treats. You can call ahead to see if there are any big groups incase you are hoping for a quiet day. The store also takes Interact and FYI, dogs are not allowed. Click here for more details.

Cataraqui Conservation Area

Sunday October 12 and Monday October 13 is their Fall Colours from 10am – 4pm. You can look at and enjoy the beautiful colours from the water all while paddling the little Cataraqui Creek reservoir. Seeing the fall colours this way would be absolutely beautiful I am sure! Throughout October they also have a few other fun things happening that include “Touch a Snake” on October 19 and “The Real Bat Man” on October 26.  Click here for full details on these events and so much more. It is $5.50 for adults and $3.00 for children to get in to the area. There is also a carload rate.

If you are looking for a fun indoor activity, then this is where you should take the family for the day. Rain or shine this place is great and a lot of fun! There is 12,000 square feet of play structures, arcade games and even a toddler section. There is also a family restaurant onsite. They offer a drop off service, group bookings and would be a great place to have a birthday party. Prices are pretty great to get in and grandparents are 10% off. Check out their website for more details.

I hope you and your family enjoy some fun times this fall! I would love to hear what you have planned. Please comment below!
